cLaunch v12.03: A Today screen organiser that will allow you to easily set up the today screen of your Pocket PC to launch whatever you wish, also great for setting up a student interface from the front screen: OR http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html which also has some nice examples of users' screen shots.
Commercial software: If you would like to experiment with a few software options, most mobile software producers offer free at least 30 day full version trials. One site worth a visit is conduits.
Freeware Pocket PC: but beware the popups & advertising.
Margi: Play PowerPoints through your projector using your mobile device.
Laplink Controller: A tool for controlling your mobile device from your laptop or PC.
Pocket Controller Professional: An Ideal tool for training/presenting mobile software or mobile devices by projecting your desktop/notebook computer screen. Also file synchronization and data entry to mobile device from keyboard.
Pocket PC Freewares: This is a very comprehensive site full of open source and freeware. The software reviews and ratings are really useful so read them before you download:

Pocket Slides: for PowerPoint.
PocketTV: MPEG Movie Player for Pocket PC, Smart Phone and other mobile devices with Windows Mobile 5.0. It is free for personal use, otherwise you must buy the Enterprise edition.
Power toys for pocket PCs: Free downloads from Microsoft.
Power Toys includes Remote display control for pocket PCs. With the Remote Display Control application, you can display actions on a Pocket PC, including user input, remotely on the display of a desktop or laptop personal computer. This is a great tool for demonstrating the power of the Pocket PC to a large audience. It also allows developers to test their applications for the Pocket PC on a larger screen.

PortaMail 2005: Synchronizes your Pocket PC handheld to Novell GroupWise. It works with all devices running Windows Mobile 5.0 (2005) including PDA, MDA and SmartPhone editions. There is a 21 day trial download, then you have to pay $82 per licence.
TCPMP (ex-BetaPlayer) - v0.72RC1: This is a free movie player for Pocket PCs.
